Sing Today, Read Forever!

How to Prepare Young Brains for Reading

Ann Kay with the Teddy Bear Band

Come participate in fun, evidence-based singing activities for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers…and their parents, of course! Learn results of brain research that has revealed that auditory processing is the key to language and literacy, and singing and practicing basic music skills is a primary way of developing it. No music background needed!

What do teachers say?

Once I start singing, my students seem to be in a trance. They drop everything, join in singing, and move to the group area.

I have heard them singing these songs all over school.

The kids are loving the folktale books and songs. I would never have thought these would be so motivating for 5th graders, but I know they like it when they are asking to sing and dance during recess!!

My data is coming in—there is a definite difference between this year and every other year that I have taught. Half of my class is almost a full grade level ahead of where they need to be reading.

The most significant increase for kindergartners has been in their rhyming scores—usually my children’s scores increase 5-5.6 points (avg), but the year I followed your program, their scores increased 10 points (avg).
